Why boiler servicing is so important

Servicing a boiler annually ensures that your hot water and heating systems will work efficiently.  Even with a relatively new boiler, issues can occur, and the annual service will pick these up and rectify them before they become a real problem.

In older boilers, wear and tear of components is inevitable over time.  If these can be spotted in advance during boiler servicing, parts can be replaced without you suffering a boiler breakdown.

Safety – boilers are connected to both your electricity and gas supplies.  Your family and your property must be kept safe.

What’s checked during a boiler service?

Here at Trust Boilers, we carry out boiler servicing to the manufacturer’s instructions.  This covers a thorough inspection and safety check, which will improve the lifespan of your boiler and improve its efficiency.

New boilers

The first and second year annual services are carried out to the manufacturer’s requirements to ensure your warranty is active. It would be unlikely for a boiler to develop faults during this period, however, should there be any, they would be picked up during the service.

Three year old+ boilers

At three years boiler servicing becomes more thorough. Our engineer will open up and inspect the combustion chamber and seals; clean out the system filter, if your boiler has one, and the condensate trap.

Once we have completed your boiler service, we will complete your manufacturers warranty service record and issue with a certificate, often known as a CP6, which can be kept with your boiler service records and will come in useful if you sell your property.

If faults are found during boiler servicing

Finding faults during the servicing of your boiler is actually a positive thing to happen.  If something serious were to go wrong, you could be left without heat and hot water or, worse still, a gas leak.

If faults are found with components which are due to be routinely replaced during your boiler servicing, then we will replace them as part of the service.

For any other faults, we will discuss the issue with you and provide you with a quote for the part and installation (as appropriate) before going ahead.

We will never undertake any work without discussing it with you and getting your go ahead – unless there is an immediate safety risk to people or property.

New parts can usually be sourced within 24-48 hours and so we will have your boiler running at its most efficient again as quickly as possible.
